We would love to welcome you to our new home in the village of Longueval, near the heart of the Somme. Trones View has far reaching views over the battlefields towards Trones Wood, Montaban and Bernafay Wood on one side and Delville Wood on the other. The house is situated on the Guillemont Road opposite the South African Memorial at Delville Wood, which has an excellent museum, visitor's centre and book shop.
The famous village of Longueval is situated within easy reach of the well known villages, memorials and other places of interest which featured in the Battles of the Somme and the Great War. Newfoundland Memorial Park, Thiepval Memorial to the Missing, High Wood, Fricourt, La Boiselle, Mametz, Albert, Serre, Flers and Bazentin are all a short drive from our home.
We offer comfortable accommodation in quiet countryside and pride ourselves in making sure our guests have a memorable visit to this historic area. Whether you are a holidaymaker looking for the grave of a relative as you pass through to other places, a more serious student of the Great War or have simply had your curiosity aroused by the many excellent TV programs about the conflict, you will be made most welcome here. Experience tells us that most visitors are captured by what they see here and return again, and again, to find out more.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Peter and Sarah Wright
