On taking early retirement we bought a holiday home in the 'Pas de Calais' region of Northern France.  After a while we discovered the 'Somme' and spent many years travelling,  exploring and researching where our relatives fought in the Great War.

We moved to Longueval in 2000 having bought the land, (which incidentally sits on the German defensive position of 1916), and had Trones View built to our own specifications. We have since furnished the house with a cornucopia of interesting collectables and Great War memorabilia.

After building the house, we had so many visitors from the UK that we decided to open a 'Bed & Breakfast'.

We are five minute's walk from Longueval's village square, from where roads lead to Delville Wood, High Wood, Pozieres, Contalmaison, La Boiselle, Guillemont, Flers, Montauban and other sites. All made famous on July 1st, 1916, and in the following weeks.

Battlefield tours, guided visits and tailor-made tours can be arranged and planned to your specification.

We look forward to welcoming you and are sure you will enjoy your stay with us.
